Bill began his moving career in 1965 with a company in Kalamazoo, MI.  In 1988 he joined Corrigan Moving Systems as their Operations Manager.  In 1991, Bill was promoted to his current position as General Manager of Corrigan Moving Systems, Inc., Perrysburg, Ohio.

 

2003  Ed Bramer, Executive Director, Ohio Association of Movers, Inc.

Ed Bramer received the 2003 Hall of Fame Award at the Annual Convention on Monday, September 22, 2003.  Ed credits much of his success to the love and support of his family.

 

2002  Jeff Campbell, Dearman Moving & Storage Co.            

 

2001  John Gossard, Gossard Moving Services, Inc.

John purchased the company from his father in 1977 and is current serving as  President and CEO.  Gossard M&S is an agent for North American Van Lines and was recently awarded the NAVL Service Excellence Award - for an unprecedented 3rd year!  John is notorious for his stories, and many of them evolve his wife Jeannie and her continued support and dedication to making John and Gossard Moving & Storage a continued success.

 

2000  Ivan Mathis, Mathis Moving & Storage Companies

He began his career in 1948 with a pickup truck proving local moving and delivery services.  As his business grew he realized the need for PUCO rights and ICC authority and he joined Clipper Van Lines.  He later bought a moving company, Security Transfer and Storage which was a stockholder in a major van lines.  He began his membership with the Ohio Movers and Burbank Tariff in the early 1950's and is still today active in two moving companies and a freight company.

 

1999  Gene & Sharon Dietrich, Lincoln Mvg. & Stg., Co.

Sharon has been involved in the moving business since she was old enough to talk and answer the phone at home for the Rouse & DeNardy Trucking/Parma Movers that her parents owned.  Gene got involved as a 14 year old when he broke a window in a Parma truck and had to work off the cost of replacement!  Both have always been  very involved the moving business on the local, state and national levels and always lived by fair and ethical practices in the moving business.   They recently took on one of the biggest projects of their lives when they sold one building, consolidated two (2) companies into one and built a brad new facility to house everything!  They have dedicated their lives to this industry and as a team Gene continues to bring the information back to the company and Sharon implements  it into the business!

1998  J. Gordon Leistner, Celina Mvg. & Warehousing, Inc.

Gordon began his moving career in a two care garage with an old converted farm grain truck.  This modest beginning led to a 4,000 square foot warehouse, followed by a 8,000 square foot warehouse ,converted from a milk creamery,  and then to a three story 12,000 square foot warehouse, converted from a cigar factory!  His next major mover was into a 40,000 square foot converted paper mill and finally in 1977 to a newly built 69,000 square foot modern facility - which he then added  40,000 square feet to in 1994!  Gordon has seen his business continually grow as a result of his hard work and principle philosophy of working hard and always providing excellence in service.  Today he is a stock holding agent of Atlas Van Lines and continues his service on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Association of Movers.

1996 Ed Brown, Brown Van & Storage

His moving career started in high school and continued during his college years as a helper in the family business.  In 1962 when he got out of the army, he joined the family business full time as a dispatcher.  They were affiliated at that time with National Van Lines, shortly after they became affiliated with North American Van Lines.  In 1968 he left to strike out on his own as a line foreman for Anheuser/Busch in /Columbus.  In 1969 he  returned to the family business to help his father and began his sales career at Brown Van & Storage.  In 1982 Ed and his partner, Charlie HUnt, bought into the agency and became the current owners.  They later added an agency in Boston.

 

1995 Paul Stierhoff, Stierhoff Brothers Moving & Cartage

Although Paul was born into a "moving" family, he began and built his own business beginning in 1955.  Paul began his career as a freight hauler in addition to the moving and storage operation.  He has done it all - helper, driver, packer, warehouseman, mechanic, bookkeeper, and executive!  He has been very involved in the OAM and has also served on the Board of Directors of The Toledo Trucking Association, and President, Vice-President and Governor of the Traffic Club of Sandusky, and President and Vice-President of the Sandusky Exchange Club where we was honored as 1987/1988 "Exchangite of the Year."
